AI: The Foundation of the Economy of the Future and a Beacon of Russian Technological Sovereignty
[In the future], there won’t be a single business that doesn’t use AI because it will be essential in a competitive environment. AI leads to radical changes. It really transforms everything. In agriculture, it is impossible to effectively manage work in thousands of open-air fields with different conditions. Using AI in agribusiness is one of the main focuses. I think that the decisions taken by the government – when a large company takes responsibility and orders a product for the whole industry from a market company – are entirely correct

AI: The Foundation of the Economy of the Future and a Beacon of Russian Technological Sovereignty
AI will result in life expectancy increasing by 20 years, not only by improving the quality of medicine, but also by changing lifestyles. The question is, what will people do? Will this number of jobs continue? How will the Russian state work? [...] In my view, the Russian Federation has a very weak position. We will not be able to compete with China and the United States if we do not act asymmetrically by discarding all prohibitions and restrictions and becoming a country that does not restrict the development of AI. We have outdated regulations. They need to be changed and there needs to be an opportunity to use AI more and use AI to change the regulations

Recalibrating Logistics for Coal Exports Under Sanctions Pressure
An important task for us is to increase coal shipments to the Far East. Here, of course, we are working very closely with Russian Railways. There are two very important areas where we need to work together with Russian Railways: the first is to improve technology... new locomotives, innovative railcars, to increase the efficiency of interaction with the railways. <...> The second is the expansion of the Eastern Polygon. <...> We are looking forward to finally getting the facilities of the first stage of the Eastern Polygon expansion up and running this year. <...> It is very important for us to improve the efficiency of the seaports, including increasing the possibility of long-distance shipments of coal on big ships. <...> Very important is the question of insurance. <...> ship investment is a topical issue for us. Many private companies have started to do this now. I think that in next 2–3 years Russian companies will get a fleet which will allow to transport Russian cargoes

Recalibrating Logistics for Coal Exports Under Sanctions Pressure
Today, we are losing out to those countries that have the capacity to increase production. These are primarily Indonesia, Australia, the US, Colombia, and South Africa. Nevertheless, we are certainly not ready to give up; we have a clear-cut strategy on what needs to be done to improve our competitiveness in logistics, and therefore the competitiveness of our companies

Recalibrating Logistics for Coal Exports Under Sanctions Pressure
The coal market is very large. <...> According to our forecast models, the global market will grow in the next 5–7 years. <...> Russia has really managed to take a good position in this market – Russia is the third exporter in the world after Indonesia and Australia. <...> Logistics is the most important area for us, maybe the most important along with countering sanctions. This is because in the main markets where we can sell coal, the cost of logistics far exceeds the cost of production, many times over. That is, depending on the region, between 50 and 75% of the cost of coal in the end market is logistics. Therefore, we will only be able to maintain our industry and develop it if we are competitive in logistics

Winning in Technological Development
A private company – if it operates in a competitive market and there are efficient owners – has clear goals. It needs to achieve its own market share through competition, basically ‘let the strongest win’. Companies invest in technology. Often state companies invest in innovations thanks to their leaders. But many state companies are the backbone of economy. They rarely compete with anyone, they often enjoy monopolist positions, they collect their rent and are not always interested in innovations

Russian World-Class IT-Solutions: Our Response to Global Challenges
In terms of meta-platforms like this, infrastructure solutions – we just need information. If we knew, for example, that Sberbank had some such product, and it was available on the market [...] we could use it. But if we don’t know anything, we have to try to resolve our problems ourselves somehow, which, of course, we can’t

Russian World-Class IT-Solutions: Our Response to Global Challenges
We’re regarded as world leaders in crop production. We were supposed to start, and we did a year ago, to tackle the third stage of automation, full robotic automation. And everything we wanted to do – robotic automation – it was built entirely on interaction with world leaders. We’re talking about American companies, European companies, Chinese companies. [...] Russia simply doesn’t have any solutions of this kind. And now, for obvious reasons, our work has come to a complete standstill

Russian World-Class IT-Solutions: Our Response to Global Challenges
We are the world’s largest user of SAP. We have the most comprehensive and largest implementation in the world in crop production. And here, we believe that in the current situation, however difficult it may be for us, we will have to switch to Russian solutions, although no such Russian solution exists at present. But it could probably be created, the closest thing to it is 1C, but there is still a lot of work to be done there

Russian World-Class IT-Solutions: Our Response to Global Challenges
Rosagro is a highly automated company, we believe, and less than 50% of our solutions are Western, or foreign solutions in general. Of the most important ones, I should probably say, well, apart from telecommunications and service equipment, we have a medical meat processing system. In this case, we are totally dependent on European companies, and this is a critical point. So far, we don’t know what we’d do if something happened

Integration of the Far Eastern Agriculture Sector into the Food Industry System of the Asia-Pacific Region
Today, Russia is already the fifth largest pork producer in the world. The cost of producing pork in Russia is, if not the lowest, then among the lowest in the world. This is due to the cost of feed […] As for the Primorsky Territory, there are rather significant opportunities, particularly with the production of soy and corn […] I think that the Primorsky Territory and the Far East in general will become a major centre of livestock production in Asia
