The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of nationwide and international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, youth, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 209 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5,000 people working in Russia and abroad.

The Foundation works alongside various UN departments and other international organizations, and is building multi-format cooperation with 212 economic partners, including industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions, financial, trade, and business associations from 86 countries worldwide, and 293 Russian public organizations, federal and regional executive and legislative bodies of the Russian Federation.

Biography
Mr. Ivanov was born on 3 July 1980 in Irkutsk. In 2002, graduated from the Chemistry Department of Irkutsk State University. In 2004–2007, was a postgraduate student at A.E. Favorsky Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Defended his candidate’s dissertation in 2007 and doctoral dissertation in 2011.

In 2007–2011, was a researcher at the Laboratory of Unsaturated Heteroatomic Compounds at A.E. Favorsky Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry before serving as deputy director for research from 2011 to 2015.

In 2015–2016, was acting director of the Irkutsk Scientific Centre of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

From 2016 until present, has been director of the A.E. Favorsky Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry Federal Research Centre of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Mr. Ivanov is a specialist in acetylene chemistry and heterocycle chemistry, a representative of the classical school of Academician Alexey Favorsky, and the author and co-author of more than 100 scientific papers in leading world publications.

Heads the Working Group on Low-Tonnage Chemistry of the Russian State Duma’s Expert Council for the Development of the Chemical Industry and is a member of the Expert Council on Chemistry of the Agency for Technological Development under the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. In November 2024, was confirmed as chairman of the Public Expert Council of the ‘New Materials and Chemistry’ National Project for Ensuring Technological Leadership.

Has received numerous regional and industry awards.
