Responsible treatment of pets

Today, world is trending towards the more humane and mindful treatment of animals. This is a particularly sensitive issue when it concerns stray and shelter animals. Discussions often become emotional, which leads to greater contradictions and the search for radical solutions. In Russia, the situation is complicated by ongoing regulatory gaps at both the federal and regional levels, as well as a lack of resources for local work. At the same time, caring people across the country – animal volunteers, foundation employees, philanthropists, and simply animal lovers – provide support for shelters, the treatment of animals, and the search for new owners. We will only be able to achieve substantial results by combining the efforts of all stakeholders: the government, business, and society. How is regulation structured in this regard? What are some of the regional specifics of how stray animals are treated? What role can dog registration play? How can we effectively organize the work of a shelter for stray animals? Why is it crucial to instil a responsible attitude towards pets in children? How should public policy be structured regarding the responsible treatment of animals?
