SPIEF Run will be held in the morning of 16 June as part of the sports and entertainment programme of the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. SPIEF participants and St. Petersburg citizens will take to the 5 km distance at 6:30 in the morning. The route will start at St. Isaac's Cathedral and will cover major sights of the Northern Capital: The Winter Palace, the Marble Palace, the Field of Mars, the Savior on the Spilled Blood, Nevsky Prospect, and more. The race was organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the League of Heroes with the support of Match TV.
Participants of SPIEF 2022 can go to heroleague.ru/basket to register for the event. To participate in the race, one will need a medical certificate.
Traditionally, the winners of the men's and women's categories among Forum participants will receive a participant’s badge for SPIEF 2023. Competitions in the men's and women's categories will also be held among SPIEF 2022 accredited media representatives, as well as among the residents of St. Petersburg.
For the first time SPIEF Run will hold a corporate team competition. Winners and runners-up among corporations will be awarded during the Forum days in the Ministry of Sports pavilion at the SPIEF venue in the Expoforum.
Celebrated athletes will support the runners: the opening ceremony and the SPIEF Run awarding ceremony will be attended by the Tokyo 2020 winners Nikita Nagorny (gymnastics) and Evgeny Rylov (swimming), as well as multiple world champions Dina and Arina Averina (rhythmic gymnastics) and sports blogger Alexei Stolyarov.
The starting camp will open at 5:30. Match TV presenter Kamilya Harisova will help set a festive mood, while Samira Mustafayeva, sports blogger and a two-time winner of the world championships in artistic gymnastics will lead a warm-up.
