A socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of nationwide and international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, youth, sporting, and cultural events.

The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of nationwide and international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, youth, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 209 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5,000 people working in Russia and abroad.

The Foundation works alongside various UN departments and other international organizations, and is building multi-format cooperation with 212 economic partners, including industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions, financial, trade, and business associations from 86 countries worldwide, and 293 Russian public organizations, federal and regional executive and legislative bodies of the Russian Federation.

The Roscongress Foundation has Telegram channels in Russian t.me/Roscongress, English – t.me/RoscongressDirect, Spanish – t.me/RoscongressEsp and Arabic t.me/RosCongressArabic. Official website and Information and Analytical System of the Roscongress Foundation:roscongress.org.

Catalytic Materials (Systems) for Future Technologies
Technological leadership of the Russian Federation in the field of industrial catalysts is obvious without effective interaction between science (especially if we are talking about the development of new catalysts and new technologies) and business, which will use these developments and bring them to production, must be effectively organized,

New Methods of Materials Research and Megascience Complexes
There are various approaches to this field. I will illustrate two bold examples. One concerns catalysts – specifically, silver catalysts for the epoxidation of ethylene into ethylene oxide. These were invented as early as the late 19th century and were reliably used throughout the 20th century. However, at an American ethylene oxide plant, it was discovered that production selectivity varied significantly between shifts – ranging from 50–70% during some shifts to just 30–40% during others. The discrepancy arose because workers were frequently checking product quality at a synchrotron. At the beginning of the last century, despite the emergence of diffraction methods, technological breakthroughs were still achieved in unexpected ways. Consider a chlorine production plant, where researchers discovered – serendipitously – that chlorine was an excellent promoter for a particular process. This discovery led to the targeted addition of chlorine. Another classic example comes from polymerization catalysis in Germany. One morning, during ethylene polymerization, researchers noticed that the reaction rate had increased. Upon investigation, it was revealed that a laboratory assistant had failed to clean the equipment from organometallic residues the previous day. She was dismissed, but the discovery led to a Nobel Prize – metallocene catalysts began to be used as co-catalysts
