A Start-Up Takes Off: Business Angels and Venture Investments
We believe that a founder’s bad experience is also an experience. And you shouldn’t be afraid of it. So, if one of your projects didn’t go well, you can safely tell the investor about it, but you need to say consciously why it didn’t work out and what you will do in the new project so that this doesn’t happen again

The number of venture deals, if we compare January-May 2022 and 2021, has decreased by 37%. This is a significant figure. At the same time, the volume of transactions, i.e., not the number, but the volume, has increased. If we look at the indicators in absolute numbers – we measure in dollars – the volume of transactions in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to USD 616 million, while in the second quarter, pay attention, it was 121. So we are seeing a significant dip, but, at the same time, we believe this is a temporary lull before a rebound occurs soon

A substantial part of the market has been vacated with the departure of Western players, and people can definitely take a cool-headed look at these niches and try to make their own decision [about whether to create] an analogue of the Western one and maybe something even better

SME Digitalization: Digital Development and Digital Inequality
We need to learn to listen to the needs of our developers and help them to develop not only in Russia, but also in foreign markets <...> Today we all know that there are various attachés at trade missions, for example, cultural attachés. But why is there no digitalization attaché? That is, a person who will be responsible for promoting Russian IT solutions in international markets. <...> We have quite a few competitively capable solutions

Digital Services for Businesses
For small and medium-sized businesses to be able to digitalize, they need access to funding, but companies sometimes don’t have the ability to provide collateral to obtain a bank loan. Today’s tech giants like Google were the first to invest in business angels. Last year, USD 2.4 billion was invested, and this is still in its infancy. Is it possible for business angels to receive tax preferences?
