The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 129 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 69 countries worldwide.

Biography
Born on March 13, 1947, in Moscow.
1970 — graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and started work at the USSR Foreign Ministry.
1970–1986 — held different posts in the USSR Embassy in Denmark, the USSR Foreign Ministry’s Scandinavian Department and the General Secretariat; graduated from the Advanced Training Course of the Diplomatic Academy, defended a thesis on the foreign policies of North European countries (PhD in History).
1986–1992 — Deputy Head of the mission, Minister Counsellor of the USSR/Russian Embassy in Denmark.
1992–1996 — Director of the European Cooperation Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry responsible for cooperation with the OSCE, the EU, NATO, the NACC, the WEU, the Council of Europe, and regional European organisations.
1996–1998 — Ambassador, Russia’s Ambassador to the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna, Austria.
1998 — Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for cooperation with the UN, legal and humanitarian issues, human rights, language and archives.
Was co-chairman of the Interdepartmental Commission on the Coordination of Russia’s Participation in Peacekeeping Efforts.
From December 1998 to June 2008 — Russian Ambassador to the United States and Permanent Observer of the Russian Federation at the Organisation of American States (OAS) in Washington, DC.
From June 2008 to May 2012 — Deputy Chief of the Government Staff.
Since May 21, 2012 — Aide to the President of the Russian Federation.
Merited Worker of the Russian Diplomatic Service in the rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
Awarded the Order for Services to the Fatherland (II, III and IV degree), the Order of Alexander Nevsky, the Order of Honour and the Order of Friendship, two medals and three orders of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Married, with a daughter.
