Cruise Control: New Aviation Routes in the Far East
Interregional transportation is absolutely essential. The flight should be cheap and regularly scheduled. At present there are flights twice a week, and there are no tickets. It’s like that throughout the Far East. In general, we do a poor job of predicting availability and demand. As in the case of Ulan-Ude: in 2017, there were roughly 1.5 flights a day to Moscow; now there are four of them, and they are still not enough. They all fill up, no matter which direction you take. We established [a route] to Tomsk last year, and there are no tickets, it’s completely full

Cruise Control: New Aviation Routes in the Far East
Interregional air travel isn’t just a trip to grandmother’s; it is economic and commercial relations. For some people tourism is a chance to rest, though it is actually business and regional development... The lower people’s incomes, the more social expenses the state is left with: to reimburse the cost of utilities, for child support, for firewood

A Land of Incredible Adventures: New Opportunities for Tourists and Investors in the Far East
The programmes are primarily built based on <...> local passenger traffic. Tourist traffic is somewhat accounted for. It needs to be included to calculate the capacity, routes, and passenger traffic. <...> The programme for aircraft leasing does not exist, per say. <...> I would say it would make sense <...> to review the programmes <...> in terms of <...> tourism instead of local passenger traffic alone. There can be two areas for improvement. First of all, it is infrastructure. <...> Secondly, it is aircraft leasing. <...> Finally, it is subsidizing the travel – the air fare, the tour, etc

‘Tourism and the Hospitality Industry’: New Investment and Technological Opportunities for the Sector
Tourism cannot only be developed with federal support, by the federal centre, or solely by the regional authorities, or local authorities, or only through the efforts of business. At any event, it needs to be a consolidation of efforts

Housing, Utilities, and the Urban Environment: Effective Investments
Now that the projects are being implemented, it is necessary to pay their dues to the Government, the Ministry of Construction, personally Vladimir Vladimirovich [Yakushev, – Ed.] and his team for the fact that a lot of projects have been started. Within the framework of national projects, the project "Clean Water" is underway. In the Republic of Buryatia, this is RUB 4.7 billion. We are moving the stratum of issues that we did not even know how to approach or when. And we are significantly improving the quality of water for the people. <...> Those projects and programmes that have already been launched at the federal level as part of national projects and additional assignments, already allow us to significantly improve the current situation

Increasing the Investment Appeal of the Far East
The Republic of Buryatia is the most overregulated region in environmental legislation. <...> The number of inspections grew significantly. About 30% of small business in tourism shut down just this year alone. <...> A venue may cost RUB 100 thousand and be ready in a month. An audit will cost RUB 300 thousand and takes two months – environmental audit of literally everything

National Development Goals: Key Issues in the First Year of Work
We already have mechanisms to implement. If we continue talking about what else is there to improve, we will wait endlessly for the next thing to come and use it as an excuse to postpone action. We must proceed to action now

The Future of Russia’s Heat Supply
We have a very good programme with the Ministry of Construction: relocation from emergency housing <...> It seems to me that it is possible or even necessary to consider establishing such programme on emergency utility networks at the government level
