Art-window to Asia: Strategies and Prospects of Building Sustainable Economic Relations
The key to success is the unbelievable commitment and enthusiasm of those who want to change the situation for the better. Secondly, it is the myth that a prop artist can become an international star. It means that we should be getting new artists – we are actively working with contemporary artists – that have a huge potential for further development that might put them on the market

Art-window to Asia: Strategies and Prospects of Building Sustainable Economic Relations
We have a perpetual jeremiad that the government does not help us. <...> We need to combine our effort and create a unique atmosphere without counting on government support. We need to count on support from patrons – Moscow ones or local ones. I would like to point out that all the big exhibitions in the Tretyakov Gallery – the whole country spoke about – were made with sponsor money

Creative Industries for Economic Breakthrough: Regional Experiences
A museum is an excellent platform to promote creative industries and teams because, when working with a brand such as the Tretyakov Gallery, our partners make every effort to utilize their full potential so that their once popular name is heard. They get on their feet and have opportunities for growth and recognition. At the same time, the museum is a touchstone for a huge number of representatives of the creative industries [...] In Vladivostok, we want to do what we did in Moscow by mobilizing the best creative forces around the Tretyakov Gallery. We are seriously thinking about how to educate personnel for a large inter-museum complex, so this year we launched a master’s course in museums funded by sponsorship money together with Far Eastern Federal University

Cultural People: Projects to Enhance the Intellectual and Cultural Level of Education
We have developed certain know-how’s that we are ready to share. That is why a year ago we have signed an agreement with the School of History at Moscow State University that we will develop a special master’s programme for two years. Thus, we tell them about new professions that appeared in museums that deal with advanced inventory, preservation, multimedia technologies, marketing and PR, and fundraising, and we do it in a very exciting way

Cultural People: Projects to Enhance the Intellectual and Cultural Level of Education
People need more than just to come to a museum and see something on the walls. <…> Educational projects, learning facilitation become primary both in Russia and in the rest of the world. A museum cannot be successful if its educational programmes are boring and do not embrace the widest range of people possible

Exporting Culture: Ways to Present the Country’s Heritage in the International Arena
My Russian colleagues and I have noticed that when political relations deteriorate, when economic contacts and communications are on the low – yet, that is hard to fathom given what is happening around right this moment – but it is during those times when cultural institutions begin to understand the importance of their missions. When intensify our contact networks

Sochi (Russian-Austrian) dialogue. Economy of culture
There are things that have to with museum’s content and development, with its infrastructural changes that must be covered by the state. We are bringing up a person of tomorrow and we are going to rely on that person in the future

Sochi (Russian-Austrian) dialogue. Economy of culture
The share of state funding is going down, whereas the share of funds that are earned, or brought in by sponsors or patrons keeps growing exponentially. <…> In 2014, the state provided 68% of the entire budget for the Tretyakov gallery, and 32% the gallery found on its own. In 2018, 32% came from the state, and 68% the gallery found on its own. <…> Then there is a question: how long can this go on for and how low can the state support level fall? <…> We cannot keep contributing to the destruction of this balance

Sochi (Russian-Austrian) dialogue. Economy of culture
In a museum a person faces an unusual mindset. For any person, a visit to a museum and dialogue with true art is a push towards thinking outside the box, is a stimulus to be creative. Creativity is the future. The future of any country depends on how many creative people are brought up
