She oversees the State Duma’s cooperation with the parliaments of African states. She was involved in arranging the first parliamentary Russia–Africa conference as part of the Development of Parliamentarism international forum that was held in July 2019 in Moscow.
Timofeyeva was born in the southern Russian city of Stavropol. She has two degrees – one in law and one in finance and credit.
She has more than 20 years experience in live television broadcasting. From 2008 to 2012, she was a member of the Stavropol City Council. She has been a member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation since May 2012. She has worked on the Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology, and Communications. In October 2016, she chaired the Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection in a new convocation of the State Duma. In October 2017, she was elected Deputy Chairman of the State Duma. She is a member of the United Russia faction.
Timofeyeva has been a part of the public presidential movement All-Russian Popular Front (ONF) since its inception. She was co-chair of the ONF Central Headquarters for 5 years (2013–2018) and is currently a member of the ONF Central Headquarters.
