Fishing Industry: New Horizons
Our second task <...> is, of course, to finish all those investment projects we started. There are quite a lot of problems there, and we know that we already have a fairly serious delay in the construction of vessels. We will have problems related to the fact that many suppliers have refused to provide equipment for our fishing vessels. And there will be certain difficulties which we will solve together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade

Fishing Industry: New Horizons
Now, the sanctions pressure that has been put on us in recent months has been quite challenging for our fishery basins. We need to separate the problems in the Northern Fishery Basin, which are one thing; the problems in the Far Eastern Fishery Basin are different. If in the Northern Basin we encountered much bigger problems related to logistics, to restrictions on the supply of products that were imposed by unfriendly countries, in the Far East we adapted to the sanctions much more successfully

Fishing Industry: New Horizons
There are quite a lot of promising markets for exports. <...> Here it seems there are good prospects too. We can vigorously increase our supply of products, which, as it seemed before <...> is not a priority for the domestic market. My vision is that our current condition and prospects are good. In general, we are optimistic, the most important thing is that the ships are completed and the shipyards

Fishing Industry: New Horizons
On the whole, I would like to say that the fishing industry is quite stable. If it were not for the salmon fishing season, in general our fishermen's catches are even higher than they were before the sanctions, and the logistics chain is built quite effectively by the business. Here our task in this shock period was <...> to help companies in the issues that they could not solve on their own

Oceans and Global Transformation: What Kind of Fleet does Russia and the World Need?
We have two important issues at hand. The first is that now there are practically no <…> refrigerated transport vessels available to the fishing fleet. <...> And then there are research vessels. We are currently building two at the USC shipyards, but the entire programme includes seven ships. This is what we need to develop and what we need to build

Investment Quotas 2.0: The Route to Intensive Development
We suggest that the investment quotas for the Far East should be extended. We need them so that we are at least at 80–90% of processing capacity in the Far East. We will certainly continue to implement the programme for crab processing

Investment Quotas 2.0: The Route to Intensive Development
There is a problem that has to do with the years when this process began, when the second part of the programme, InvestQuota 2.0, was launched. Clearly, the construction of plants can begin as soon as the legislative initiatives are adopted. But with the fleet it is a little more complicated than that. So far, we have optimistically set our target for the year 2023, but I am afraid that we will start intensively building the fleet in 2025 at best

Investment Quotas 2.0: The Route to Intensive Development
I accidentally came across a thing that our foreign colleague had said, about the industrial revolution taking place in the Russian fishery. And it seems to me that it is too early to draw all the conclusions, but it is a fact that we are changing the economy of the fishing industry in ways that are revolutionary

Investing in the Fishing Industry: Achievements and Next Steps
Through investment quotas the state subsidizes these investment projects [in the fishing industry, – Ed.]. <…> In some areas, the amount reaches 40–50% of the total investment project cost. That is why I think that the state has the right to request the implementation of the specified projects

Catching the ‘Goldfish’: Sustainability Factors of Fisheries
A huge challenge and a big issue is the program of the deep-sea fishing development. It is impossible to extract resources at such depth with existing fishing gear

Catching the ‘Goldfish’: Sustainability Factors of Fisheries
In addition to preserving the stock itself, besides operating under environmental regulations, legislative stability is important. <…> Any revision in this part could lead to unpredictable outcomes
