Leonid Reiman in 1979 graduated from the M.A. Bonch-Bruevich Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute of Communications (nowadays SPbGUT St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications and IT). After graduation, he worked as an engineer and Head of Department at the Leningrad city international telephone station.
In 1985-1999 Leonid Reiman held leading positions in the Leningrad City Telephone Network (LGTS) (nowadays: St. Petersburg City Telephone Network (PTS).
From July 1999 he was state secretary, first deputy chairman, chairman of the State Committee for Telecommunications (Gostelecom).
In 1999 Leonid Reiman was appointed Minister of Information and Communications of the Russian Federation, from 2004 to 2008 Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of the Russian Federation. 2008-2010 Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Secretary for Presidential Council of Information Society Development.
In the period from 2000 to 2010 he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC Svyazinvest. PhD in economics (2004). Nowadays, Chairman of the Board, Angstrem JSC. Married with four children.
