The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 132 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.

Biography
Evgeny Pokushalov was born on 7 November 1974 in Tomsk. Currently lives and works in Novosibirsk.

In 1997 he graduated Siberian State Medical University in Tomsk with honours, majoring in General Medicine.

1997–1999 — studied at the Residency of Cardiology in the Tomsk Research Institute of Cardiology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Received Doctoral Degree in Medicine in 2002.

2002–2006 — Senior Research Associate of the Surgical Arrhythmology Group of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Meshalkin National Medical Research Centre of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation.

2003–2005 — trained in Haut-Leveque Hospital (Bordeaux-Pessac, France), in St. Georg Hospital (Hamburg, Germany) and in San Raffaele University Hospital (Italy).

Earned his Post-Doctoral Degree in Medical Sciences in 2005.

2006–2014 — continued working in Meshalkin National Medical Research Centre of the Federal Agency for Public Health and Social Development as the head of the Surgical Arrhythmology Centre.

From 2010 to present, holds the office of Deputy Director of R&D Department and the head of the Centre of Interventional Cardiology of the Meshalkin National Medical Research Centre of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation.

Along with medical practice, Evgeny Pokushalov is actively engaged in academic research of cardiac rhythm disorders.

Author and co-author of 290 scientific articles, including 5 monographs and 16 patents. As of today, his Hirsch Index (Scopus) is 21.

Participated in more than 35 international clinical trials as a principal and co-researcher. Member of Russian and foreign scientific societies and professional associations.

Member of the Advisory Board for Surgical Sciences of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Member of the Scientific Council, Doctoral Thesis Council (D 208.063.01), Chairman of the Advisory Board and a member of the Ethics Committee at the Meshalkin National Medical Research Centre of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation.

In 2012 received the Certificate of Honour for Years of Dedicated Service (Order No.499P of 5 May 2012 of the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development of the Russian Federation).

In 2013 received the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists — Development and Clinical Application of a New Technology of Interventional Treatment of Atrial Fibrillation; two grants under the federal targeted Scientific and Scientific-Pedagogical Human Resources for Innovative Russia for 2009–2013 Programme (Agreement No.8491 of 23 October 2012, Agreement No.8808 of 14 November 2012), state contract for research and development project — Non-clinical Trial of Pharmaceutical Product Containing Botulin Neurotoxin for The Treatment of Life Threatening Arrhythmias (code 2.1 Arrhythmia 2014.

Winner of the 2016 State Prize for Science and Technology for scientific substantiation and clinical practical application of a new concept for reducing incidence and mortality of patience with heart rhythm disorders
