The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 130 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.

Biography
Born September 22, 1969 in Moscow.
Graduated from the State Central Institute of Physical Education of the Lenin Order with a degree in physical education and the Moscow State Law Academy with a degree in law.

Athletic achievements:
Merited Master of Sport (1992, fencing,épée).
Member of the USSR and Russian national team (1987–2008).
European Champion (1997, 2000).
World Championship winner (1991, 1993, 1994, 2002, 2003, 2005) and medalist (1989, 1990, 1997, 1999, 2002).
Winner of the 27th Olympic Games in Sydney in the individual Épée event(2000).
Silver medalist of the 25th Olympics in Barcelona (1992) in the individual ?p?e event and of the 26th Olympics in Atlanta (1996) in the team event.
Bronze medalist of the 24th Olympics in Seoul (1988) and the 25th Olympics in Barcelona (1992) in the team event, and the 28th Olympics in Athens (2004) in the individual Épée event.

From 1986–2007: coach for the TsSKA fencing team

2001–2007: manager of World Class Clubs and Fizkult Gyms.
2007—2010:Deputy Chairman of the Dynamo sports society
October 5, 2010: appointed Deputy Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy by Prime Minister’s Directive No. 1679-r.
June 18, 2012: appointed Deputy Minister of Sport by Prime Minister’s Directive No. 1014-r.
October 19, 2016: appointed Minister of Sport by Presidential Executive Decree No. 558. He held this position until January 2020.
