The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 133 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.

Biography
Born on September 2, 1960 in Novoarkhangelskaya Cossack village (Krasnodar region). Educational background:
In 1983 Anatoly Pakhomov graduated from Kuban Agricultural Institute, majoring in agricultural mechanization. In 2000 he got a PhD in Economics and in 2005 a post-doctoral degree in Engineering. In 2006 Mr. Pakhomov received the title of a full professor. Professional background: Anatoly Pakhomov started hi career in 1977 in Tikhoretsky State Farm as a tractor operator and a locksmith. Between 1981 and 1986 he was Deputy Secretary, and then Secretary of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League Committee at Kuban Agricultural Institute.
Between August 1986 and October 1989 he was the Secretary of the Communist Party Committee at Kuban Agricultural Institute’s work-study unit.
In October 1989 Anatoly Pakhomov was elected First Secretary of Krasnodar City All-Union Leninist Young Communist League Committee. In September 1991 he Joined APEKS Interregional Commercial and Manufacturing Union a Deputy CEO and First Deputy CEO. In 1996-1997 he was employed at Kubankhlebproduct JSC as Vice President and Deputy CEO for Social Policy and Public Relations. In 1997 Anatoly Pakhomov joined Krasnodar Administration, where he worked as Director of Department for Consumer Market and Pricing and Deputy Mayor of Krasnodar. In 2001-2004 he held the position of the Head of State Trade Inspection Department for Krasnodar Region. In October 2004 Anatoly Pakhomov was appointed Head of the Department for Complex Development of Tourism and Resorts in Krasnodar Region. In October 2005 he joined Anapa Administration as Deputy Mayor for Economy, Industry, Transportation, Communications and Trade. In March 2006 Mr. Pakhomov was elected Mayor of Anapa.
In January 2009 he was appointed acting Mayor of Sochi.
Starting from May 2009 till present he is the Mayor of Sochi.
Family: Married with two children.
