The Far East: Resource Frontier or Driver of Growth?
We have a whole pool – a triplet – of projects in gas chemicals and gas processing. <…> These projects are worth over USD 20 billion total. Besides, you already know about the construction of the Vostochny Cosmodrome and the second line of the Baikal–Amur Mainline. Thanks to all of that we can actually declare an investment of RUB 2 trillion. On our part, we must do our absolute best in gas chemicals and get to secondary and tertiary processing in order to make sure these operations stay in our region

The Far East: Resource Frontier or Driver of Growth?
We have a programme to support the locations with large projects. The town of Svobodny boasts a natural gas cluster. The town of Tsiolkovsky has a spaceport. The town of Skovorodino has a methanol plant. Some of those large projects are already paying taxes, which we are using to upgrade the social infrastructure in those communities ahead of schedule. <…> It is done to help those facilities with workforce and to take the quality of life to a whole new level

Increasing the Investment Appeal of the Far East

Roundtable for Russian and Chinese Regional Leaders
The key path is creation of a new international transport corridor that will fully unlock the transit economic potential of the two regions and create the necessary conditions for business development. At the end of 2016, the construction of a border crossing in the area of the cities of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe started. Completion is planned for December 2019. Most importantly, this project is already shaping new growth points, attracting businesses, and attracts investors as well. Therefore, our task is not only to put the bridge into operation in a timely manner, but also to achieve the greatest multiplier effect from its operation for the economy, and potentially for the economies of both countries, too

The National Project to Develop SMEs: What Will Be Done in the Far East?
The level of the economically active population in the Far East is lower than the national average. In recent years, a significant outflow has been seen in the population and this, of course, affects the quality of the population. In addition, the quality of the business environment is lower than the average for Russia [...] We need to not only concentrate on measures of monetary support, but also on training and the development of human capital
