David Otujor Okpatuma is a dedicated youth, social development enthusiast, social entrepreneur, and public speaker passionate about bridging the gaps in education, health and the youth empowerment sector through teaching, research, and impactful initiatives that positively influence the lives of youths in society.
David obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from the prestigious University of Jos, Plateau State with a discipline in Education. He is an educator, a humanitarian and a dedicated servant-leader who aspires to obtain a Master’s degree in Economics and International Relations.
David is the Project Manager for Africa under the auspices of Art Shapers Association, an association that works to promote emerging artists and entrepreneurs working within the creative industry, but also caters to more established entities. He is the Team Lead of Friends Pro Earth, a network of social entrepreneurs and change makers who come together under the auspices of friendship to identify community needs and provide solutions to them in the most effective, people driven and unorthodox manner. Friends Pro earth has implemented projects related to sustainable consumption and production patterns, as well as initiated some upcycling projects across communities and is about implementing a community farm project. He is a Member of the Friends for Leadership Network, which is a neutral, horizontal, and effervescent network within networks, heralding the emergence of a new breed of global young leaders changing global narratives for good. He is a proponent of the Friends of Cities initiative under the leadership network. He is a Youth Advocate with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). He is a Co-founder of the Power Circle Trust, a network of young global leaders who believe in impacting the world through community initiatives, and is based in Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
As a passionate changemaker, David has been a member of the YMCA for about a decade now. He has served as SDGs Champion with Model United Nations Development Organization, Plateau State Nigeria, Enumerator for the Women Without Walls Initiative in partnership with the Irish government, Peer educator on Sexual and reproductive health, Youth Peace Ambassador and mentor under the auspices of Search For Common Ground Nigeria, Youth Counsellor with the YMCA, Independent Monitor with the World Health Organization, and a member of the Young African Leaders Initiative.
In all of these roles, David tries to live for the benefit of others the best way he can.
