Born May 11, 1978, in Rabat,
Mr. Methqal graduated in Communication Systems Engineering with a Master in Financial Mathematics from the Federal Polytechnic School of Lausanne (EPFL), an MBA in Management from the College of Engineers in Lausanne too and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from Babson College in the United States.
Mr. Methqal began his career in the scientific research community in 2000 in Switzerland where he was a research assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.
Subsequently, Mr. Methqal continued his career in France in strategy, management and organization consulting with international consulting firms based in Paris. During this period, he carried out several consulting assignments in Europe and Morocco in the public and private sector, particularly with large companies, banks and insurance companies.
Methqal is the winner of the NETS award for the 15 best young entrepreneurs in Switzerland in 2003.
In addition, Mr. Methqal co-founded two innovative companies in the development of interactive tables in 2003, and in the management of clinical trials in North Africa in 2006.
In January 2010, Mr. Methqal joined the cabinet of the Minister of Economy and Finance of Morocco as advisor to the Minister for two years.
Then, Mr. Methqal accompanied companies and investors in their strategic projects in Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa.
From October 2013, Mr. Methqal held the position of economic advisor for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation for three years, where he was responsible for the new economic diplomacy, cooperation and international development.
Mohamed Methqal, was appointed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Casablanca as Ambassador, Director General of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation
He also held the position of Chief of Staff of the President of COP22 between February and December 2016.
