Alexander Malkevich

Alexander Malkevich was born on June 14, 1975, in Leningrad. He has two certificates of higher education - a diploma in the field of public and municipal administration and a diploma in law.

Since 1991 he has been working in the field of mass media and public relations. He passed a professional path from the correspondent to the newspaper editor-in-chief and the head of the largest regional TV channel.

Since 1999 he has been deeply engaged in scientific and teaching activities. He is a candidate of political science, a docent. He is an author of more than 120 scientific publications, five monographs and two books.

In 2007-2009 he worked as an editor-in-chief of the St. Petersburg city cable TV channel "Your public television!" ("YPT!"). During this time he spent more than 350 hours on air live as an anchorman.

In 2010-2012 he was the General director of the Novgorod Regional Television.

In 2013, he was one of the initiators of the formation of the Center for Modern Caucasian Policy; he is the author and producer of the First Media Forum of the North Caucasus (2013).

In 2013-2014 he became the head of the holding "KCHR media" and an editor-in-chief of the group "KCHR Media" (Karachay-Cherkessia region). He was a creator and CEO of the satellite TV channel "Arkhyz 24". This project was registered in the Russian Book of Records "for the shortest period for creation of a regional media holding from scratch". This result was achieved in 146 days).

From August 2014 to may 2018 he was the General Director of JSC "Omsk Regional Television and Radio Company" ("ORTRC") – the major provincial television channel of Omsk region; later the company was renamed "Omsk Media" to consolidate on its basis all of the state media assets of the region.

In May 2018, he was hired at LLC "International News Agency" ("INA") as the editor-in-chief of the"USA Really" project - a new online media, founded to give an objective picture of the American social life.

Twice he became the winner of all-Russian TV contest "TEFI-Region" - in 2012 in one of the most prestigious nominations "The daily information program", sub nomination "for cities with a population up to 300 thousand"), and in 2016 – in the nomination "Television and life: social action".

Two-time he was the finalist of the National Award in the Field of Public Relations "Silver Archer" in the nomination "Best project in the field of development and promotion of territories", in 2013 and 2017.

Three-time he became the winner of the National Award "Media Manager of Russia", in 2012, 2015 and 2017, in the nomination "for social responsibility of media" and "for the creation of a new type of regional 24-hour TV channel".

He is a member of the Board of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) of Russia, a member of the Central Council of the all-Russian public and state organization "Russian Military Historical Society" (RMHS), a chairman of the Commission on Information Policy of the Central Council of RMHS, a member of the Expert Council on Regional Television and Radio under the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.

He has a number of state and professional awards, including honorary titles as "Honored worker of the culture of the Republic of Ingushetia", "Honored journalist of Karachay-Cherkessia Republic", "Honored journalist of Omsk region".

In 2017, Alexander Malkevich was awarded the highest departmental award of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation - "The master of communications" for credits in the development of communications, information technologies, and mass communications.

He is also a Laureate of the Russian Government Prize in the field of culture in 2017.
