The Unique Kurils: Investment Opportunities
Nature does not always allow us to take full advantage of all the possibilities of the territory, even if we flew several thousand kilometers. <...> At the same time, it can be noted that traveling to the Kurils is expensive for many. <...> The territory has no hotel infrastructure [at all – Ed.] Particularly missing are hotels with a unique thermal component. Those are a must for a territory where the land itself is bubbling and breathing, where it lures tourists with its possibilities and its beauty

Tourism as an Influence on the Image, Socio-Economic Development, and Investment Attractivity of a Region
Tourism and transport go hand in hand... with the infrastructure that needs to be created for all facilities to exist. A very important question that we all face when creating a strategy for the territorial development of tourism in a macroregion is the answer to the question: how each region should emphasize its uniqueness, how to create tourist demand and supply, how to satisfy it in such a way that it would be interesting for tourists to travel, again and again, choosing new locations for their holidays

Tourism as an Influence on the Image, Socio-Economic Development, and Investment Attractivity of a Region
The last three years have been full of challenges for our industry. Of course, now both demand and investment are located within the country. The work of all market participants should be focused on the development of investment, which should form the basis for improving the supply within the country. One of the components in stimulating investment is the general integration of investments. This means that each investor must understand its position in this tourist environment

Tourism as an Influence on the Image, Socio-Economic Development, and Investment Attractivity of a Region
On the vast macro-territory of Moscow and St. Petersburg, cities began to appear that have tourism as the anchor employer. We understand that the role and function of tourism as an employer should be strengthened, especially since tourism, first of all, is an industry with a large number of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs involved in business; and they need to find favourable conditions for their development

Domestic Tourism in Russia: How Should the Industry Develop in the New Environment?
We see our role – and cashback is used to the same end here – to level out seasonal shifts. We want to show that travelling is possible during various seasons. Grant mechanism also works towards this goal. One of the new grants we just launched aims to help build heated outdoor pools

Domestic Tourism in Russia: How Should the Industry Develop in the New Environment?
Tourism overall needs to define its role: is socio-economic or economic and social? The entire post-Soviet period we viewed tourism as a social thing. In terms of small business, we turned into a giant field made up of hotels, tour agencies, and so on, that tried to figure out the economics on their own. We believe tourism is a branch of the economy… that can bring in respectable revenue

We all are talking about high levels of tourist interest in the Far East, Primorye, Sakhalin, Kamchatka, Yakutia. But if we double the tourist flow, the airport operation will be disrupted. The airport infrastructure cannot comfortably handle such number of tourists without delays, crowds and overlaps

The Happy Economy: Public Initiatives for Regional Development
In the Far Eastern regions, tourist attractions can be located 300–400 kilometres away from the starting point. This is uncomfortable for the tourist, because, according to studies and international standards, every 1.5–2 hours on the road, that is, every 60–100 kilometres, there should be a place to stop and have a rest. Ideally, it should be integrated into the concept of the trip and offer opportunities to learn about that place

The tourist industry has a lot to offer to small and medium-sized companies and often provides the first job for the youth. This is a strong reason to keep the youth where they are, not only in large cities as Vladivostok, but also in remote territories. There are villages and towns where young people stay because they see how tourism starts developing, new interesting products are emerging, new companies are formed. They stay there and arrange unusual tours, create new sights, creative museums, begin producing something interesting

Presentation of the Goals and Programme of the Chairmanship of the Russian Federation in the Arctic Council in 2021-2023
All events are built around strengthening the position of sustainable tourism in the Arctic. [...] One important point is the ratification of the Arctic Tourism Declaration. The development of tourism in the Arctic is an incentive for the development of dialogue between the countries of the Arctic region, this dialogue, in turn, allows the development of the best ways, measures and opportunities to expand sustainable tourism in the Arctic at the highest level. The Declaration will be an extremely important element in our collaborative work. [...] Our initiative is for the formation of an international polar passport. [...] Its goal is to achieve hard-to-reach locations and safe conduct of tourism. [...] Itinerary projects have already been developed, and the concept of the polar passport is at the stage of completion

Destination: all of Russia! The role and challenges of the regions in developing domestic tourism.
This (the formation of a tourist master plan for the development of Altai — ed.) will allow to fulfill all the elements of balanced sustainable territorial development: reasonable attitude to ethnic groups, to nature, to all the infrastructure that will be created. This initiative has a broader perspective at the federal level. The National Project includes a development programme for territorial tourist master plans on a macro level. The plans are to be made by various territories together in order to make ties between them seamless. So that the tourist, who travels not to a particular subject, but to the whole territory ... saw quality, interesting, balanced, attractive product, throughout the entire country

Destination: all of Russia! The role and challenges of the regions in developing domestic tourism.
Last year, which made many people reconsider their travelling plans, directed a large flow of people who previously traveled abroad inland. On the other hand, entrepreneurs were forced to quickly adapt to the constraints that came with the new opportunities. They had to adapt their products and offerings to the new requirements. At the same time, we must understand that a whole generation of Russians has now grown up with open borders. Our product must be competitive simply because it is better in quality, in service, in balance of price, not in spite of some restrictions

Destination: all of Russia! The role and challenges of the regions in developing domestic tourism.
The national project (Tourism and hospitality industry — ed.) includes three key initiatives, which, again, are unimaginable without regional integration. The first is infrastructure and support measures that will allow entrepreneurs, investors, municipalities, and regions to improve the infrastructure already in place. Why does this concern the authorities, regional and municipal, as much as entrepreneurs? Because in order designing an interesting and beautiful space, or adapting even the tiniest of beaches somewhere on a beautiful river or reservoir, requires participation from the municipality. Yet, the municipality will never have enough budget to make such infrastructure even to get ready for investors to gets involved
