Andrei Leifa, born 20 July 1964.
In 1985 graduated from the Kalinin State Pedagogical Institute.
From 1987 to 1991 he worked as a track and field coach in the Blagoveshchensk Physical Education College. From 1991 t0 1992 he worked as a senior lecturer of the Department of Sports Disciplines of the Kalinin State Pedagogical Institute.
1992 he enrolled in the employer-sponsored postgraduate programme of the Department of the Fundamental Physical Education of the Moscow Pedagogical University. In 1995 he defended his Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences thesis.
From 1995 to 1996 he worked as a senior lecturer of the Department of Sports Disciplines of the Kalinin State Pedagogical Institute.
1996–1998 – Head of the Department of Physical Education. 1998–2002 – Deputy Head of the Department of Medical and Social Work. 2002–2010 – Head of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy. March 2016–present – Provost for Research. August 2018–present – Acting President of the University.
From 2010 to 2011, he was appointed First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Amur Region. From 2014 to 2016 performed the office of the President of the FGBOU VPO Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University.
In 2007 he defended his Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences thesis. In 2012 the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation awarded Mr Leifa the academic title of professor.
He authored the total of 195 scientific and educational papers, advised on 11 candidate’s dissertations on pedagogical sciences.
In 2012, he was awarded the honorary title ‘Honoured Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation’.
