Global Energy Trends: Today and Tomorrow
We need to build tankers. One million tonnes is one tanker. Just given today’s situation, this also reduces the political risks. Today, the market is becoming global

Foreign Competency Substitution in the Industrial Support of Russian LNG Projects
We believe there should be a review of how funds are allocated for R&D. Around the world, these tasks are fulfilled through venture investments. In principle, the allocation of subsidies should be similar to how startups are funded. Instead of looking at proceeds coming from the sale of equipment, the actual use of equipment in LNG projects should be the key factor. Reporting should be simplified, we believe

Foreign Competency Substitution in the Industrial Support of Russian LNG Projects
In other countries the industry took shape over the course of several decades. We do not believe it is possible to accelerate production of such sophisticated equipment without government support. The interrupted LNG projects around the world will take advantage of the current price surges, and accelerated production will begin in the coming years. The market window of opportunity for Russian LNG will shrink

Foreign Competency Substitution in the Industrial Support of Russian LNG Projects
Atomenergomash have made a good [successfully tested – ed.] cryogenic submersible pump, and are offering it for almost twice as much as what we bought it for yesterday from Japan. This is down to conditions surrounding the provision of subsidies and uncertainty regarding the number of orders. <...> If we show that this is not an order for one line, but for 10, then I hope the prices will be very different

Foreign Competency Substitution in the Industrial Support of Russian LNG Projects
This sector holds an immense amount of promise for our country. Gas reserves in the Arctic are in the range of 32 trillion. As an example, Qatar – which is a major producer – has its North Field, which had a maximum of 24 trillion. This gives us the chance to build an enormous LNG production cluster. That means tens of thousands of jobs, and a huge springboard for economic growth in Russia

Foreign Competency Substitution in the Industrial Support of Russian LNG Projects
Russia plays a key role in the global energy mix, although attempts are being made today to limit our options in foreign markets. We are the world’s biggest exporter of gas. And this fuel’s share in the global energy mix is steadily growing. Today it stands at around 23%, and is expected to reach 25% by 2030. This growth will be largely down to liquefied gas,

Global Challenges of the Energy Mix in 2022
There is no localization – we build our own technology and equipment to produce LNG. We have a huge resource base. America will probably be this year’s biggest producer, with 15 million added, and 85–90 already being attained. Qatar accounts for 20%, and Australia 20%. We must also occupy 20% of the market – we have all the potential to do so

Global Challenges of the Energy Mix in 2022
In attempting to replace such an immense amount [of energy resources – ed.], EU countries are at risk of an energy crisis. This fact needs to be voiced, because nobody is talking about it. If this trend continues, the outlook will be bleak – we’re talking about jobs being lost, and factories being closed

Russia’s Support for Private Investment in the Arctic: A New Approach
The Ministry of Finance amended the tax code and starting from 2023 regional governments have virtually no right to provide benefits to companies. I propose that such authority should be reinstated in the tax code, so that for at least 12 years the regions could provide tax benefits for Arctic projects and their suppliers

Russia’s Support for Private Investment in the Arctic: A New Approach
We are now implementing a new project: Arctic LNG-2. It has more capacity [than the Yamal LNG project, – Ed.], about 20 million tons already, and the investment will be 30% less, about 1.2 trillion roubles. A number of major contracts for this project have already been signed; Total has already joined as a stakeholder, we are negotiating with partners from China and Arab countries

Russia’s Support for Private Investment in the Arctic: A New Approach
The Russian Government played a decisive role in the implementation of the Yamal LNG project. There was a decree, an intergovernmental agreement was concluded with China. The government guaranteed permanent taxation rules for us. About half of the investment in this project was provided by shareholders, but the timing was bad: Novatek came under sectoral financial sanctions, and it was very important that at that particular time we received support from the National Wealth Fund in the amount of 150 billion roubles and financing from our banks

The Global Gas Market in 2030
Increasing gas availability is the key market growth driver. Many countries are revising their energy balances in favour of this type of energy source. The task for manufacturers is to keep the prices in the acceptable for the consumer range. <…> In the long term, pricing in the gas market should not be linked to oil indices. Prices should suit consumers. Otherwise, we will not be able to implement out plans to increase market volumes

The Global Gas Market in 2030
In the next five years, a new industry will be born in the Russian Federation. The government has adopted a roadmap for developing the production of LNG equipment. We plan to involve about 800 enterprises in this work. We set goals for Russia to enter the world market as an equipment supplier for LNG production, including ready-made liquefaction lines that can be delivered anywhere in the world
