Dmitry Kiku is Deputy Head of the Department of External Restrictive Measures Control of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. The departments objective is to develop systemic measures to counteract the hostile acts of foreign governments.
Kiku was a member of the Panel of Experts of the UN Security Council Committee pursuant to resolution 1718 regarding North Korea from June 2014 to May 2019.
Since 1997 Kiku has worked as a career diplomat in Russia and abroad, having been posted to the embassies of the Russian Federation in Germany and Azerbaijan.
He dealt with issues related to UN Security Council sanctions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the provision of assistance to Russian government agencies involved in the implementation of UNSC resolutions and the coordination of interagency cooperation in this area.
Kiku received his bachelors degree in economics at the Russian University of Cooperation and his PhD in political science at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
