The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 133 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.

Executive Vice President for Industry, Member of the Executive Committee, Schneider Electric
Peter began his career at Mitsubishi Electric as a software development engineer in Japan before joining Siemens in 1993, where he held a variety of positions in the automation and drives field in Germany and the US. In 2004, Peter served as a member of the Managing Board and President of the Automation & Drives Group at Siemens Ltd. China. Four years later, he became President of the Industry Sector in North-East Asia. In 2011, he was appointed Head of Corporate Strategy and Corp. Vice President. In 2014, he became Chief Executive Officer on the Process Industries & Drives division. Peter studied automation technology at Saarland University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and received a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from Université de Metz, France. He holds a MBA and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. After an exceptional career with Schneider Electric an impressive contribution to the success of the Industry Business and the successful integration of Invensys, Clemens Blum, Executive Vice President of the Industry Business and Member of the Executive Committee, has decided to transition to a well-deserved retirement from full time professional life on December 31, 2016. Peter will join Schneider Electric on October 1, 2016. Following a 3-months inclusion time to acquire a deeper knowledge of Schneider Electric and its employees, he’ll be in charge of the Industry Business from January 1, 2017.
