Ilkka Herlin is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cargotec Oyj and co-founder and member of Foundation for a Living Baltic Sea. He is also a founder of companies called Soilfood (nutrient recycling) and Qvidja Kraft (renewable energy). He is doctor of philosophy and history researcher. He is known for his work for the Baltic Sea and as an advocat for corporate responsibility. Ilkka and his wife, Saara Kankaanrinta, own a test farm for regenerative agriculture and soil carbon sequestration. They also own Gullkrona island which guest harbour is opened this summer.
