The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 155 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 75 countries worldwide.

Biography
Marc Carena is appointed General Director, McDonald’s Russia as of July 2018.

Swiss by origin Marc joined McDonald’s in August 2017 as Corporate Vice President, International Lead Markets (UK/Ireland, Germany, Australia/New Zealand, France and Canada).

Prior to joining McDonald’s Marc had an extensive experience in Retail (6,5 years) and FMCG (9 years).

Marc held increasingly senior marketing, sales and general manager positions in Nestlé spanning 10 countries across Europe, Asia and Africa, culminating as member of the European Management Committee of Nestlé Professional running South Europe (14 countries).

Thereafter Marc worked in B2B and B2C Retail for the Metro Group in senior roles in Marketing/E-commerce in Eastern Europe up to CEO of Metro Cash & Carry Croatia as well as president of the Supervisor Board of the common Metro/Spar Austria Joint Venture in Croatia

Marc graduated from the University of Berne, Switzerland, with an MA in Business Administration.

Marc has a strong track record of driving success in many countries; caring about people and using his high energy and dynamic leadership style. He brings with him strong food and retail sector experience and knowledge of the system committed to further enhance McDonald’s brand moving forward in Russia.
