The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 162 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 75 countries worldwide.

Biography
Main areas of Prof. Fedorov’s research interests are high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and Data Analytics with a focus on applications of HPC, AI and Big Data in different areas of science and technology. He is also involved in a number of national and international activities related to ethical and educational aspects of AI and other modern technologies.

Maxim holds a Ph.D. (Candidate of Science) degree in Physics and Mathematics and a D.Sc. (Doctor of Science) degree in Physical Chemistry from the Russian Academy of Sciences. Maxim has significant experience in coordinating international projects in scientific computing, in silico design of bioactive compounds, applications of modelling techniques to real-world tasks and development of sustainable large-scale e-infrastructure for computational science and engineering. Maxim’s track-record includes leading the West of Scotland Academia-Industry Supercomputer Centre based in the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and other appointments in highly recognised research and academic organisations such as Full Professorship (Chair) in Physics in the Department of Physics, University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK), Research Group Leader at Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (Leipzig, Germany) and research positions at different levels at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics (Pushchino Biological Centre of RAS), National Research Centre “Kurchatovskyi Institut”, University College Dublin and the Unilever Centre for Molecular Science Informatics at the University of Cambridge (UK).

To date, Maxim has published over 100 peer-reviewed publications and gave over 100 invited talks and lectures. Several of these publications became top 1% cited papers in corresponding areas. Maxim is an active member of several international research and scientific societies. He is leading one MS and one PhD program in Skoltech. In 2017 he was elected Chair of Educational Committee of Skoltech. Recently he has been taking active part in activities of the Working Group of the UNESCO conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education (May 2019, Beijing, China).
