The Sanitary Shield. How to Prevent New Pandemics
Following Rospotrebnadzor’s recommendations, we are gradually moving towards lifting the restrictions. We resumed flights to Turkey which is one of the most popular destinations with our people. Egypt is gradually starting up – this is also a result of our tight collaboration. <…> It is our first experience of close collaboration. For me, it has been a positive experience. Of course, we want more, and we talk on the phone with Ms. Popova (Anna Popova, Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing – Chief State Sanitary Physician of the Russian Federation) to share information, I tell her that we have certain destinations and obligations to our citizens. We want tour operators to comply with their commitments as much as possible, so that people could go on holiday. It is great that there is a close professional dialogue

Tourism: A New Era of Hospitality
There are three key sets of problems (in cruise tourism – ed. note): legal and regulatory framework (we have 41 regulations and practically every one of them needs revising) <...> The second set consists of infrastructure: that includes wharfs and rest areas, and it is the shortage of wharf infrastructure that does not allow us to build one-week tours, for instance (an average cruise is one week all over the world, but ours are two weeks). <...> The third set of problems includes promotion, marketing, and demand generation

Tourism: A New Era of Hospitality
Cities become tourist products in their own right. In other words, we come to a city to stroll around and enjoy it, to go to a restaurant and try the local cuisine, to visit museums that tell the story of this particular area. It is by building such tourist city centres that the framework for growth of small and medium-sized businesses is created

Tourism: A New Era of Hospitality
We <...> had an anchor goal: to create such an environment that businesses (large, small and medium-sized) would find tourism investment profitable. Because, if businesses do not invest in tourism, if it does not become profitable, we would not, of course, be able to build a hospitality industry in the country since, as everyone knows, tourism is a private enterprise everywhere in the world

Tourism: A New Era of Hospitality
We really do have such a tool as the ‘Master Plan for the Most Promising and Popular Territories’ incorporated into the National Tourism Project. <...> What is a territorial tourism project? It’s not just a strategic document; it is a document that will let us analyse and assess tourism potential in each territory in depth and use all regions as efficiently as possible, <...>, build new investment lots, and plan tourism growth in these territories as well and as wisely as possible

‘Tourism and the Hospitality Industry’: New Investment and Technological Opportunities for the Sector
Tourism infrastructure is the foundation for creating a comfortable social environment in territories and cities as well as a comfortable life for local residents. We have everything here: transport, energy, ecology, medicine, safety, tidying up the appearance of historical centres, trade, and, of course, a huge number of jobs

Tourism cashback is still operating in somewhat of an anti-crisis mode this year. Starting next year, it will also become more focused, concentrated, and targeted and work specifically to support the offseason. In addition to an important social mission, tourism cashback has a very important economic objective – to expand the wings of the season

Through grant support, we would like to support small projects that are of great importance to millions of travellers [...] Going forward, at the expense of grants, we will be ready to support the development of modular hotels – camping, car campsites, glamping, various observation platforms, and sanitary zones along the routes

‘Tourism and the Hospitality Industry’: New Investment and Technological Opportunities for the Sector
The first instrument that we are introducing into the national project is the creation of a concept for the country’s development and the master planning of a high-quality territory, clusters, and the resorts that we will create. We also face the task of making a tourism master plan for the whole country for which we will have to complete a preliminary version by the end of this year. It will be a conceptual document in which all the key points of tourism development will be interconnected

‘Tourism and the Hospitality Industry’: New Investment and Technological Opportunities for the Sector
We are seeing a huge shortage of high-quality modern hotels, with the possible exception of Sochi. Almost the entire Krasnodar Territory is experiencing an acute shortage of such hotels, as is the entire Crimean Peninsula, where there are very few hotels with the high quality of service that our tourists want to receive today. And, of course, such popular destinations as Altai, Baikal, the Russian North, and Karelia – an appropriate price-quality ratio is not taking hold there precisely because there are not enough high-quality modern hotels

All our efforts and instruments of the national project will be focused on ensuring that our infrastructure works year-round. We will strive to be year-round in order to overcome the seasonal factor and the low income of investors associated with this seasonality, which in turn directly affects the quality of service, the level of remuneration, and the prestige of working in the tourism industry [...] Investors are much more willing to build hotels in business centres, where there is still a clear-cut seasonal fluctuation

‘Tourism and the Hospitality Industry’: New Investment and Technological Opportunities for the Sector
For the first time in the industry, we now have a system of instruments, not one, not two, but several groups of interrelated state support measures, which I am certain will allow us to correct mistakes, build up the industry, and make tourism become an important non-resource sector of the economy that generates huge socioeconomic effects for our country and directly affects the quality of life of our citizens

The Character of a City Defined by Urban Habits
The borders are getting blurred today. Travel, vacation, and leisure can mean completely different things. Today a vacation is not necessarily a two-week trip to the beach. It can be a short, atmospheric trip to a neighboring city, it can be a weekend spent in your own city

Key Principles for Establishing Tourist and Recreational Zones
We can clearly feel the low level of informedness, for example, about the electronic visa regime. <…> Until the electronic visa regime works throughout the territory of the country, we need to selectively build awareness on the target markets, so that as many tourists from all over the world as possible learn that some regions already introduced the electronic visa regime. The problem is that Russia is still seen as a closed country visa-wise

In fact, we have reached the final stages of discussion, and we hope that in the nearest future a positive decision will be made and in 12 to 18 months the electronic visa regime will function in the entire territory of the country
