The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of nationwide and international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, youth, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5,000 people working in Russia and abroad.

The Foundation works alongside various UN departments and other international organizations, and is building multi-format cooperation with 173 economic partners, including industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions, financial, trade, and business associations from 78 countries worldwide, and 179 Russian public organizations, federal and legislative agencies, and federal subjects.

Biography
Mounir Bouchenaki born in November 1943 in Algeria. He contributed during four years (2013–2017) to the launching of a UNESCO category II Centre in Bahrain. He was elected Director-General of ICCROM (2005–2011). He was the initiator of the ICCROM/Sharjah Centre. His appointment at ICCROM followed a long career at UNESCO, where he was Assistant Director-General for Culture, Director of the Division of Cultural Heritage, Director of the World Heritage Centre at UNESCO, and in his own country, Director of Antiquities, Museums and Historic Monuments from 1970 to 1981. He holds a PhD in archaeology and ancient history. He has been awarded the titles of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, Officier des Arts et des Lettres, and Commander des Arts et Lettres. In 2002, he was raised to the rank of Commander of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity by the President of the Italian Republic. He was awarded by the President of the Algerian Republic with a Golden Medal of Culture, and by the French President of the Republic the title of Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur. He published a number of books and articles. His last book is titled Mutilated Heritage (2017). Presently, he is Special Advisor to the UNESCO Director General and to the ICCROM Director General.
