As corporate head of technology partnerships and technology transfer, Sergei is responsible for supply chain development by ensuring localization and new product development efforts in Russia by the key hi-tech local and international industrial companies
Before joining Gazprom Neft, Sergei served as Chief Innovation Officer and Member of the Board at Russia’s leading industrial group OMZ. Before that, he was a successful CleanTech entrepreneur, a winner of the semi-final at the CleanTech Open 2010, a US nation-wide CleanTech business plan competition. In 2010 Sergei simultaneously graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University. He focused on energy security and policy at Harvard and on energy technology and entrepreneurship at MIT.
Prior to coming to the USA, Mr. Arkhipov graduated with honors from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Law Institute and held executive positions in a number of Russian companies.
Sergei’s area of interest is the nexus of energy technologies, innovations and investments.
Mr. Arkhipov is a Supervisory Board member at the Harvard Club of Russia. He also leads MIT alumni community in Russia and teaches Technology Entrepreneurship, Organization Design and Strategy at a leading Russian tech university MIPT (Phystech). He is a co-founder of CleanTech Russia, non-for-profit accelerator supporting energy and resource efficiency start-ups.
