On-the-job: corporate cancer prevention programs
7 September 2021
Cancer continues to pose a significant threat to public health. The most important factor in the prevention of cancer development is the detection of diseases in the early stages, which means that people employed in production have the opportunity to timely undergo high-quality diagnostics and screenings of malignant neoplasms. An equally important aspect of preventing the development of oncological diseases is the organization of a healthy environment in the workplace, contributing to the primary prevention of risk factors - tobacco smoking, alcohol consumption, unhealthy diet and others. Finally, an important aspect is the creation of conditions in the workplace for the psychosocial rehabilitation of employees who have survived cancer. Corporate programs for the prevention of cancer are a profitable investment for the employer, insuring the economic risks associated with the long absence of qualified personnel in the workplace.
