‘Finance for Development’ is the main theme of the 26th International Financial Congress (IFC 2017), which opened on July 13 in St. Petersburg. More than 1,200 participants have come together to discuss the financial system’s contribution to the country’s economic development and measures that can be taken in this area.
Representatives of Russian and foreign banks, insurance companies, pension funds, and other financial market entities as well as the central banks of different countries and international financial institutions were invited to the discussions.
The IFC participants will discuss issues concerning economy and finance, monetary and credit policy, banking, payment systems, the pension savings market, insurance, microfinance, financial technologies, financial accessibility and financial literacy, and much more. Discussions will take place in the formats of plenary sessions, panel sessions, and roundtables.
