In the runup to SPIEF 2023 First Deputy Prime Minster of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Organizing Committee Andrey Belousov presided over the meeting of the Committee.
«Today comes the time to focus, the time to reimagine and rebuild our communications with our strategic partners. In this regard, SPIEF helps the state to unite like-minded people. Russia is one of the countries in the world that has retained its sovereignty, its ability to implement its national objectives, its domestic goals. Russia pursues policies in accordance with its national interests, which does not exclude interaction with other countries,» said Andrey Belousov.
The agenda of the meeting included a discussion of organizational issues and the Forum’s business programme, as well as questions pertaining to the preparation of both the venue and the city of St. Petersburg for SPIEF 2023.
Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organising Committee, made the first presentation: «Preparations for SPIEF 2023 are proceeding as planned. The Forum is one of the largest and most significant business events in the world. Given the turbulence in the global economy due to the transformation of international economic associations, growing social inequality, and unstable trade and political relations, the prospects for sustainable development of the international economy are especially relevant today. SPIEF is a common space of trust with equal opportunities for all economic actors in the world.»
The preparation of such a major event always requires a clear plan of action and strict adherence to deadlines for accreditation, submission of designs and technical solutions, as well as organizing PCR testing. «The work is going on as planned. We update all our contractors, partners and participants about any occurring changes in the preparation and holding regulations,» said Alexander Stuglev, Chairman and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation.
SPIEF will be held in St. Petersburg from 14 to 17 June.
