An interdepartmental meeting chaired by the Assistant to Russian President Anton Kobyakov was held in Moscow to discuss the preparation for and organization of the 16th Interregional Forum on Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan that will be held in Omsk on November 7, 2019.
The participants in the meeting discussed organizational issues related to the overhaul of the Omsk urban infrastructure, as well as exchanged opinions on what issues should be included in the business part of the event. A separate block of issues was dedicated to holding the Export Potential of Russia and Kazakhstan exhibition, as well as the Youth Forum Russia-Kazakhstan on the zero day of the forum.
“Omsk region is to host an event that is critically important for the relations between the two countries. The Russian-Kazakhstan interregional forum is a universal platform where representatives of the state, businesses and regional authorities can freely and openly communicate on issues related to the development of trade, investments, diversification of business contacts. Omsk is now actively engaged in preparation for the event. City infrastructure and urban environment objects are being reconstructed; buildings and structures are being overhauled, roads repaired”, says Anton Kobyakov, an assistant to the Russian President.
Alexander Burkov, Governor of the Omsk region, says - “It is a great honor for our region to host an event of international scale and relevance, so it is only natural that the federal authorities are paying close attention to the preparation for the forum. The event will be a serious test for us; it will highlight the quality of work of the regional authorities on an international level. I am sure we are up to the task and are able to properly host the international summit.
Since interregional forums are critically important for the CIS, participants in the meeting agreed that it is necessary to develop a unified approach to organizing forums and conferences on interregional cooperation organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
