The Speakers at the Russia–Africa Economic Forum Will be Heads of State, Chief Executives of Leading Companies, Ministers and Experts from Both Sides

An expanded version of the business programme of the Russia—Africa Economic Forum and Summit with speaker names has been published on the event’s website. The Forum will feature more than 200 CEOs, ministers of key industries, and representatives of the expert community from Russia and Africa. The events will be attended by more than 3,000 representatives of African businesses.

The Forum’s business programme is split up into three thematic pillars: ‘Forging Economic Ties’, ‘Creating Joint Projects’, and ‘Collaborating in the Humanitarian and Social Sector’. The central event of the Forum will be the plenary session ‘Russia—Africa: Uncovering the Potential for Cooperation’, which will be chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

During the business programme sessions, the speakers will discuss key industries where Russia and African countries can develop cooperation as well as general issues concerning humanitarian and social development that affect people’s level of education, medicine, and quality of life.

«The participants can expect an eventful programme that covers the full potential of industries for the development of cooperation and collaboration on the African continent. Looking at the list of Forum speakers, we can safely say that the discussions will take place at the highest level, and the decisions and conclusions made at the Forum will lay the groundwork for real solutions. It’s a unique opportunity for us to realize our mutual interests and enter a new era of cooperation between our countries», Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.

The ‘Forging Economic Ties’ pillar, which is devoted to ways to strengthen economic cooperation between countries, will feature such speakers as Russian Railways CEO and Chairman of the Board Oleg Belozyorov, Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Her Excellency Sahar Nasr, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs President Alexander Shokhin, Djibouti Chamber of Commerce President Youssouf Moussa Dawaleh, and other expert economists, government representatives, and company executives. The government and businesses will use the conclusions reached during the discussions at the Forum to take the necessary decisions that aim to stimulate economic cooperation.

The ‘Creating Joint Projects’ pillar will focus on existing and potential joint projects in the oil and gas industry, agriculture, transport infrastructure, construction, and nuclear energy. The speakers include Russian Export Center CEO Andrey Slepnev, Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak, Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation Director General Andrey Likhachev, and other participants in joint projects.

The ‘Collaborating in the Humanitarian and Social Sector’ pillar will bring together experts on corporate social responsibility, the chairmen of high-profile funds, and representatives of business and African countries for discussions on ways to improve the quality of life on the African continent, security, education and healthcare.

More than 30 business events involving international speakers will be held on the sidelines of the Forum. The Russia—Africa Economic Forum and Summit will be held in Sochi on 2324 October 2019 and will be the largest events of their kind in the history of Russian—African relations. The Roscongress Foundation is the organizer of the events.
