The Innosocium Foundation – the Social Platform of the Roscongress Foundation Takes Part in “Female Compatriots and Continuity of Generations” Conference

The World Thematic Conference of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad «Female Compatriots and Generations Continuity» took place in Moscow. The conference brought together delegates from 90 countries, including members of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, representatives of federal and regional executive bodies, and well-known women of Russia: public figures, entrepreneurs, teachers, and scientists. The organizers set ambitious tasks that included the consolidation of active women of Russian communities abroad, the disclosure and optimal use of their creative and business potential, as well as the active inclusion of Russian women in all spheres of public life in general.

Speaker of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko noted during her speech that Russia was always open to dialogue with partners around the globe, and that included women’s issues. For example, since 2015, under the auspices of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, the Eurasian Women’s Forum has been held every three years and has already become truly global. The last forum was attended by participants from 110 states and representatives of 27 international organizations, and the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin made the event special.

Valentina Matviyenko noted that active work to strengthen the women’s agenda on the international stage was also taking place outside of the forum such as in, for example, the creation of the global online platform of the Eurasian Women’s Forum that was currently underway as a joint project of the Eurasian Women’s Forum and the Innosocium Foundation — the social platform of the Roscongress Foundation, which would contribute to the effective development of international project cooperation, the increased participation of women in advanced industries, the digital economy, between international cooperation, as well as the creation of effective social mobility for women.

Deputy CEO of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Innosocium Foundation Elena Marinina noted the undoubted importance of strengthening the women’s agenda at the global level, including the development of women’s leadership, more active involvement of women in economic and social processes, including supporting small businesses within Russia and abroad.

«The creation of a global platform for the Eurasian Women’s Forum will open up new perspectives and help in promoting and strengthening the women’s agenda and women’s leadership on the world stage. The creation of the platform provides us with a tool for implementing our ideas — we will be able to consolidate the global agenda and to shape it, which will undoubtedly contribute to building a female community and creating sustainable development», Marinina said.
