The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.
The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.
Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 133 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.
Advisor to
the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov met with Professor Klaus
Mangold, Chairman of Mangold Consulting GmbH and member of the Roscongress
Foundation Supervisory Board, in Moscow. They discussed participation of
Germany’s business delegation in the St. Petersburg International Economic
Forum that will take place on 2–5 June 2021.
SPIEF 2021
will host the traditional Russia–Germany Business Dialogue with support from
the German Eastern Business Association (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen
Wirtschaft). The Dialogue will focus on technological cooperation and
innovative solutions for Russia–Germany energy and environmental cooperation.
Participants will address development of Russian-German energy partnership and
its role in resolving environmental problems. Other topics will include the
contribution of the Russian and German economies to improving environmental
friendliness of operations and recycling.
Participants
also discussed the possibility of creating a project office that would help
develop cooperation among Russian and German small and medium businesses. The
Fund RC-Investments and Mangold Consulting GmbH will sign a cooperation
agreement.
“The
unprecedented challenges the global community faced in 2020 made efforts to
develop economic ties among countries more difficult. But even throughout the
year of the crisis, Germany remained one of Russia’s key trade partners and
kept investing in new Russian projects: last year’s net investment volume
exceeded EUR 1 billion. We are ready to facilitate strengthening economic ties
and developing the dialogue on priority cooperation areas between our
countries, especially cooperation among small and medium businesses,” said
Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.
Professor
Klaus Mangold spoke about priority sessions in the SPEIF business programme,
including the ones on oil and gas industry, hydrogen fuel, car building, and
healthcare. The meeting also addressed cooperation between Germany and the
Russian Direct Investment Fund to launch coronavirus vaccine production in
Germany.
“Our
countries must unite their efforts in technological cooperation and searching
for innovative solutions to maintain sustainable development. Participation of
Germany’s delegation in SPIEF will help find optimal ways to cooperate and
successfully implement joint projects in various segments of the economy,”
noted Chairman of Mangold Consulting GmbH and member of the Roscongress
Foundation Supervisory Board Klaus Mangold.
The
Russian-German cross-year “Economy and Sustainable Development” is taking place
under the patronage of Russian and German foreign ministers until the end of
2022.
The SPIEF
2021 business programme is being currently developed. Its tracks will cover
matters of Russian and global economy, social aspects, and technological
development. Besides its business programme, SPIEF will host the Russian Small
and Medium-Sized Enterprises Forum, the International Youth Economic Forum, SCO-, BRICS- and ASEAN-related events, a meeting of
the B20 Regional Advisory Council, the Creative Business Forum, the Drug Safety
and Security Forum, and bilateral events on the Arctic and African agenda.
