Roscongress Foundation Booth Wraps up First Day at #WEARETOGETHER International Forum

The #WEARETOGETHER International Civic Forum has kicked off in Moscow. The Roscongress Foundation’s booth showcased the social, charitable, and educational projects of the Foundation and its partners. In addition, the Roscongress Foundation’s booth hosted thematic master classes by the Foundation’s employees on remote work, how to find one’s purpose and favorite pursuit, crowdfunding, and the concept of lifelong learning.

Yevgenia Melnikovskaya, Head of the Business Processes Formation Division of the Roscongress Foundation’s Participants Relations Directorate: «Searching for a purpose is now a trend. People cannot live without meaning in principle. It seems that each of us already has this, which means that you can follow your destiny as you wish, anywhere, in any activity, especially in volunteerism.» The master class attendees had an opportunity to learn about how to start searching for their purpose in life, how to understand that they are doing precisely what they are destined to do, and how to connect it with volunteerism.

The Roscongress Foundation’s booth hosted a screening of the film ‘Place in Life’ about the history and philosophy of Paper Bird, Russia’s first hospice for children and young adults. The story focused on people who understand how important it is to support and help each other in every moment of their lives. «Children from the hospice grow up, become young adults, and need to change society’s attitude towards them. When leaving the walls of the children’s hospice, they and their families must be sure that society will not turn its back on them and will not treat their needs as a mere formality,» Paper Bird Children’s and Adult Hospice Charitable Foundation Executive Director Pavel Tkachenko said.

Visual arts are the best way to convey important issues and influence public opinion. Olga Sharko, an expert on socially significant projects and an NPO public relations consultant, spoke about how to convey the idea of a project using PR based on the example of photo projects.

Alexandra Nalivkina, Head of the Personnel Training and Development Division of the Roscongress Foundation’s Delegate Management Directorate, spoke about the concept of lifelong learning and how to connect the desire to constantly learn and try new things with building a career and achieving success: «At the Foundation’s booth, we held a master class on remote work — the key trend in employment in the post-pandemic years. Many companies plan to continue having most of their employees working remotely even after the coronavirus. Remote work is a story about the modern paradigm of life. Today these skills are extremely important and worth developing. Thanks to the transition to remote work, we have become more socially responsible, creative, and attentive to one another.»

The booth focused on charitable projects during its second day of work. The programme kicked off with speeches by experts from the Paper Bird Children’s and Adult Hospice Charitable Foundation, who explained to guests why it’s crucial to instil a culture of helping others from the earliest years of school and also shared their experience in implementing the ‘Dreams Come True’ project.

The Roscongress Foundation’s booth also hosted master classes by Maria Mama on the provision of first aid to children with various diseases as well as the Give Sunlight Charitable Foundation on the sewing of knitted toys for babies. All the sewn items are intended for children with a birth weight of 500 grams or more in perinatal centres in Moscow and the regions. In addition, in the run-up to New Year’s Eve, a presentation was held for a social project for low-income families and families with special children called ‘Father Frost Comes to Your Home!’

At the end of the second day, representatives of the Roscongress Foundation, the All-Russia People’s Front, the Right Direction Charitable Medical Search Service, and the Paper Bird Children’s and Adult Hospice Charitable Foundation meet at the booth to discuss new joint projects for 2022.

The Roscongress Foundation’s booth will continue to work until 5 December. A series of unique master classes, public talks for all ages as well as quizzes and an AR quest of the MARMA project will continue for the Forum’s guests and participants.

The #WEARETOGETHER International Civic Forum is being held in Moscow on 2–5 December. It is being organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the DOBRO.RF platform. This year, the Forum is being held in the run-up to Volunteer Day and under the auspices of UNESCO.
