The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 133 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.

Organizing Committee convenes to address preparation for the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi

The Organizing Committee under the chairmanship of Dmitry Kozak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, on 18 December 2017 held a meeting addressing the preparation for the Russian Investment Forum to be held in 2018. The participants in the meeting discussed the business, cultural, and sporting programmes, as well as organizational issues concerning the preparation for the Forum. The structure of the business program consists of three thematic blocks: ‘New Regional Policy: Improving Governance’, ‘Business in the Regions. Giving a New Impetus’, and ‘Improving Living Standards’. The two-day business program includes a plenary session with the participation of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev. The head of government will also hold a meeting with the heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and a meeting with representatives of business communities. The Forum in Sochi also features the Day of Youth Entrepreneurship, as well as the ceremony to award the A.P. Pochinok Prize based on the results of the All-Russia Regional Socioeconomic Development Competition and the Development Award based on the results of the national annual competition established by Vnesheconombank in 2012 to encourage investment activities and ensure an attractive and favorable investment climate in Russia. Guests and participants will be able to visit the exhibition of regional investment projects, which will display projects from 36 constituent entities of the Russian Federation that are being implemented or are planned for implementation. “The Forum in Sochi will traditionally bring together at its venue the leaders of federal authorities, heads of major Russian companies, heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation, leading experts and media leaders. Participants will focus on discussions of topical issues of the Russian domestic socio-economic agenda. The Sochi Forum will emphasize the presentation of the economic and investment potential of the Russian regions,” said Anton Kobyakov, adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, deputy chairman and executive secretary of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the Russian Investment Forum. The Russian Investment Forum will be held in Sochi on 15–16 February 2018, with the participation of Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.
