
The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.
The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.
Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 133 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.
The
official website of the Roscongress Foundation will be accepting applications
from 24 July until 30 August 2019 for the accreditation of media
representatives for events of the 23rd session of the General Assembly of the
UN World Tourism Organization, which will be held in St. Petersburg on 913
September 2019. The business programme events of the UNWTO General Assembly
will be held at the ExpoForum Exhibition and Convention Centre, Tauride Palace,
and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.
The UNWTO General
Assembly is the largest event in the global tourism industry. The event brings
together delegates from more than 150 countries, is held under the auspices of
the UN, and aims to solve global challenges facing the tourism industry. This
marks the first time in history that Russia will host the event.
«The 23rd
session of the General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization, one of
the key events in the world of tourism, is of strategic importance for Russia.
Russia got a powerful boost for the development of its tourism sector following
the World Cup, when thousands of fans from around the world had a chance to
appreciate our hospitality and learn about the cultural diversity of Russian
cities. Our goal is to become one of the top 12 tourist destinations in the
world by 2025 according to the UNWTO rating. This years General Assembly in
St. Petersburg will allow us to present our tourism potential to ministers of
culture and representatives of the tourism community from more than 158
countries,» Advisor to the Russian President Anton Kobyakov said.
The event
is being organized by the Roscongress Foundation and the Tourism Development
Committee of St. Petersburg jointly with the Russian Federal Tourism Agency.
