Roscongress announces competition of innovative and creative ideas to promote Science Fest

The international Science and Innovation Festival, which will be held online 24–26 July this year, is calling on members of the public to become co-creators of the event concept and take part in a nationwide hackathon, with the best event format proposals to be selected as winners. One of the key tasks is to turn the official Festival website into a fully-fledged and interactive multi-platform venue. The winners of the competition will receive a RUB 600,000 grant to implement their concept.

The Festival programme includes online conferences, TED Talk-style discussions, interactive workshops, innovation ‘speed dating’, VR presentations, and many other original discussion formats. All of this will allow participants who are following the action remotely to fully experience the atmosphere of this unique event.

This year, the Festival organizers decided to distance themselves from standard event promotion strategies. «For the majority of participants, their first encounter with the event takes place on the official website. However, we do not want a standard landing page with the event programme and yet another wall of partner logos. A unique event needs to be presented in a unique way. This year, we want to join forces with students, scientists, the professional community, and anyone who is interested in science and innovation. Our task is to create a unique format for Science Fest that may never be repeated. We are confident that our project will lead to the emergence of many fresh ideas and suggestions. Modern technologies allow us to implement all kinds of initiatives that were previously impossible. Together, we can make the Festival a memorable online event!» said Science Fest project creator Dmitry Sryvkov.

For the first time, people working to popularize cutting-edge technologies and support young students, inventors and entrepreneurs will be involved in the creation of the Festival programme, activity map and exhibition. The participants will include leading Russian universities such as Lomonosov Moscow State University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, ITMO University, Far Eastern Federal University, Kazan Federal University, and many others. The programme for the online conferences will be created with involvement from major media outlets, websites, and social media communities. At its core, Science Fest 2020 will be a patchwork of expert-led and publicly-sourced content. Additionally, the Festival organizers will soon open applications for participation in an online musical marathon.

The Festival will be broadcast on the Roscongress Foundation’s online platforms, including the Roscongress TV YouTube channel, the official website and the Foundation’s social media pages, as well as on various platforms operated by the Festival’s organizing partners.

You can apply for participation in the ideaton on the official Science Fest website: www.science-fest.ru.

The time for change is upon us!
