July this year, is calling on members of the public to become co-creators of
the event concept and take part in a nationwide hackathon, with the best event
format proposals to be selected as winners. One of the key tasks is to turn the
official Festival website into a fully-fledged and interactive multi-platform
venue. The winners of the competition will receive a RUB 600,000 grant to
implement their concept.
Festival programme includes online conferences, TED Talk-style discussions,
interactive workshops, innovation speed dating, VR presentations, and many
other original discussion formats. All of this will allow participants who are
following the action remotely to fully experience the atmosphere of this unique
the Festival organizers decided to distance themselves from standard event
promotion strategies. «For the majority of participants, their first encounter
with the event takes place on the official website. However, we do not want a
standard landing page with the event programme and yet another wall of partner
logos. A unique event needs to be presented in a unique way. This year, we want
to join forces with students, scientists, the professional community, and
anyone who is interested in science and innovation. Our task is to create a unique
format for Science Fest that may never be repeated. We are confident that our
project will lead to the emergence of many fresh ideas and suggestions. Modern
technologies allow us to implement all kinds of initiatives that were
previously impossible. Together, we can make the Festival a memorable online
event!» said Science Fest project creator Dmitry Sryvkov.
first time, people working to popularize cutting-edge technologies and support
young students, inventors and entrepreneurs will be involved in the creation of
the Festival programme, activity map and exhibition. The participants will
include leading Russian universities such as Lomonosov Moscow State University,
Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic
University, ITMO University, Far Eastern Federal University, Kazan Federal
University, and many others. The programme for the online conferences will be
created with involvement from major media outlets, websites, and social media
communities. At its core, Science Fest 2020 will be a patchwork of expert-led
and publicly-sourced content. Additionally, the Festival organizers will soon
open applications for participation in an online musical marathon.
Festival will be broadcast on the Roscongress Foundations online platforms,
including the Roscongress TV YouTube channel, the official website and the
Foundations social media pages, as well as on various platforms operated by
the Festivals organizing partners.
