
The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.
The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.
Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 133 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.
The Organizing Committee on the preparation
and holding of the Second Caspian Economic Forum held its second meeting in
Moscow, under the chairmanship of Maxim Oreshkin, Minister of Economic
Development of the Russian Federation. The event will take place in Astrakhan
in 2021.
Among the meeting participants were Mikhail Babich, First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation; Igor Babushkin, Governor of Astrakhan Region; Elmir Tagirov, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Russian Government; Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Board, CEO of the Roscongress Foundation. The meeting was also attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Finance and other departments.
«The Caspian Economic Forum in Russia will be
a remarkable event that will help to expand cooperation with the Caspian
states. And so, we gathered here today to outline key areas of cooperation in
the preparation for this event, to determine the content, timing, and the list
of participants,» said Maxim Oreshkin, Russian Minister of Economic
Development.
The Second
Caspian Economic Forum, which is to be held over the course of two days, will bring
together several discussion platforms on economic, environmental and
humanitarian issues. The event will include an exhibition of foreign and
domestic achievements in innovation, transport, equipment for port
infrastructure, logistics services, and education.

Roscongress Foundation has extensive experience in conducting international
events with the participation of top officials, including economic forums aimed
at developing relations with the CIS countries. Among them are Kazakhstan,
Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Abkhazia. I am confident that the
event will be held at the highest level of organization,» said Alexander
Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Roscongress Foundation.
The Forum
will allow to draft the proposals of the business community to the governments
of the Caspian states on removing barriers and providing assistance for the
progressive development of trade, as well as conclude agreements and contracts
between governments and countries.
