Today, on 13 October, 2017 the Chairman of the WFYS2017 Organizing Committee Sergei Kiriyenko and the President of the World Federation of Democratic Youth Nikolas Papadimitriou visited the festival sites.
The organizers visited rooms for plenary discussions and educational events, partner interactive zones (Battle of the Robots, Wargaming zone for the World of Tanks tournament), international Press Centre with briefing rooms and work space, YOUTH EXPO exhibitions (regional, Festival Heritage, Alley of Friendship – festival daisies from around the world), photo and video studios and other sites.
Sergei Kiriyenko and Nikolas Papadimitriou were satisfied with the facilities' readiness to host the participants and launch programmes, with the design and diversity of zones for discussion, training, communication and recreation.
The 19th World Festival of Youth and Students will take place from October 14 to 22, 2017 in Sochi and bring together 20 000 young professionals 18-35 years old from more than 180 countries.
Let us remember that the volunteer corps will help to host the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students. Five thousand people from Russia and other countries, including silver volunteers will become #worldvolunteers. Registration to become a volunteer at the festival closed in April 2017. More than 35 000 young people registered on russia2017.com. Twenty centres across the country recruited and interviewed candidates for the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students volunteering.
Russia hosts The XIX World Festival of Youth and Students. We’re extending our greetings to 20 000 students and young professionals in various fields aged 18 to 35 from over 180 countries.
Twice in the festival history, in 1957 and in 1985 it was hosted by Moscow, the capital of the USSR. The 7th WFYS was the largest ever visted by over 34 000 people from more than a 100 countries.
