Best Industrial Start-ups Presented During Business Priority Pitch Session at GMIS 2019

The 15 best industrial start-ups were presented during the Business Priority pitch session at the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS 2019). The event was held under the slogan ‘Innovations are Changing the Landscape of the Future’. The session was held with the support of the Roscongress Foundation along with the Digital Economy Development Fund as part of the Start-up Lounge project. The National Engineering Corporation was the general partner of the Pitch Session.

The session featured presentations of eight Russian and seven international start-ups in such areas as artificial intelligence, nature-like technologies, and social engineering modelling. Based on voting, these projects were selected from among the top 100 start-ups and granted the status of Business Priority.

The Russian projects that were presented, in particular, included Bmpower, which produces world-class hydrogen batteries, RFsense, which manufactures acoustic wave systems that provide new opportunities for utilizing the potential of power grids, and Motiviti, a platform for staff development, training, and motivation. Foreign start-up projects included presentations by Otago (Singapore), which converts biomass into energy, and Sponsh (South Africa), which produces a special fabric for the irrigation of deserts.

In addition, representatives of such projects as Lige, Cubi, Ecolight, Nilar, Hion, Kalancha, Credence Robotics, Big3, Hologroupe, and The Concept made presentations to Russian and Arab investment funds, state-owned corporations, and major industrial companies. The best projects can count on support from large investment funds and further scaling.

“The Business Priority project is thriving. This is evidenced by the fact that international companies took part in the innovative project competition at the GMIS 2019 in addition to Russian companies. I am confident that the quality of expertise that the Roscongress Foundation is offering to investors and young entrepreneurs will enable them to attract new investments and reach a higher level of development”, said Yury Cherches, a member of the Roscongress Foundation Board of Directors.

The GMIS 2019 also featured a youth business platform whose members can also present the best innovative youth projects. The platform for young professionals was organized by the Roscongress Foundation, the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Administration of the Sverdlovsk Region, the Russian Export Center, and the OT WINTA Foundation.
