The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 132 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 70 countries worldwide.

Leaders of the BRICS countries adopt the Moscow Declaration of the XII BRICS Summit

The XII BRICS Summit, with the motto, BRICS Partnership for Global Stability, Shared Security and Innovative Growth,’ was held under the chairmanship of President of Russia Vladimir Putin on 17 November.

The summit was attended by President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa.

The heads of state and government of the BRICS countries exchanged views on the state of and prospects for their countries’ cooperation and reviewed the results of the Russian BRICS Chairmanship this year. The leaders reviewed topical international issues and compared their positions on the eve of the forthcoming G20 summit on 21-22 November.

Following the summit, the leaders adopted the Moscow Declaration that reflected the consolidated approaches of the BRICS nations to the future development of their association, the Strategy for BRICS Economic Partnership through to 2025 and the BRICS Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
