The Roscongress Foundation is a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of nationwide and international conventions; exhibitions; and business, public, youth, sporting, and cultural events. It was established in pursuance of a decision by the President of the Russian Federation.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5,000 people working in Russia and abroad.

The Foundation works alongside various UN departments and other international organizations, and is building multi-format cooperation with 173 economic partners, including industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions, financial, trade, and business associations from 78 countries worldwide, and 188 Russian public organizations, federal and legislative agencies, and federal subjects.

Investment Cooperation Between Russia and the Republic of Korea to be Discussed at the Russia–Korea Business Forum in Moscow

The Russia–Korea Business Forum will take place on 22 June 2018 in Moscow, at the Lotte Hotel Moscow as a part of the visit of the President of the Republic of Korea Moon Zhe Ying to the Russian Federation. The Korean International Trade Association (KITA), the Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), the Roscongress Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI RF) are the organizers of the event.

Representatives of Russian and South Korean government, business, and expert circles will take part in the Business Forum. It is expected that the Head of the South Korean delegation, as well as the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Katyrin and the Chairman of KITA Kim Young-Ju will address the participants of the Forum.

The Business Forum Programme is divided into four major sessions, devoted to economic relations and prospects for cooperation between Russia and the Republic of Korea: • Review of the industrial policy of the Russian Federation and measures to expand trade between Russia and the Republic of Korea; • Expansion of economic cooperation between the Republic of Korea and Russia based on the ‘Nine Bridges’ strategy; • Russian import substitution policy and industrial cooperation with the Republic of Korea; • Transport and logistics cooperation between Russia, South Korea and North Korea.

Vice-President of the CCI RF Vladimir Dmitriev, Director General of Korea Institute for International Economic Policy Park Joungho and Director General of Korea Maritime Institute Hwang Jin Hoi will present their reports at the sessions.

Negotiations between representatives of Russian and South Korean business communities will also take place on the sidelines of the Forum.
