On 21 October, SPIRIT Slovenia Business Development Agency held an online seminar on business collaboration with St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region. The event was supported by the Roscongress Foundation and aimed to develop dialogue between Russian and Slovenian business communities. St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Chambers of Commerce and Industry also participated in the seminar. At the end, the Roscongress Foundation and SPIRIT Slovenia Business Development Agency signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Participants of the conference included: Acting Director of SPIRIT Slovenia Business Development Agency Dr. Tomaž Kostanjevec; CEO and Chairman of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev; President of St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yury Burchakov; Vice President of Leningrad Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry Elena Dyukareva.

«Russia and Slovenia share a long-standing friendship. Scientific contacts have always been active, especially when it comes to humanities. It was fostered by similarities in the Russian and Slovenian languages. Over 200 Slovenian companies operate in 60 regions of Russia. There are promising projects in energy, transport infrastructure, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, and other industries. Naturally, cooperation in medicine and healthcare has become of primary importance this year. I am confident that this seminar will help strengthen ties between members of Slovenian and Russian business communities and find new points of growth for companies of both countries. At the same time, the memorandum the Roscongress Foundation and the SPIRIT Slovenia Agency signed will give an impetus to further cooperation between our organizations in holding online and offline events in the future,» noted CEO and Chairman of the Roscongress Foundation Alexander Stuglev.

The opening part of the conference was followed by presentations of Slovenian companies that look into cooperating with businesses from St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region. They include Bosio, Dewesoft, Instrumentation Technologies, Iskra Sistemi, Iskratel, Marand, Resevo, Seven Refractories, ZITex-GZS (Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; ZITex), and Žejn Group.

The memorandum of cooperation with SPIRIT Slovenia Business Development Agency took the number of Roscongress’ international partners up to 130.
