On Thursday the the first ever TransformNation Film Awards ceremony was held at the Forum. The selecting committee saw 5 documentaries and 17 fiction films, including two Russian works: Zoology by Ivan Tverdovsky and How Viktor "The Garlic" Took Alexey "The Stud" to the Nursing Home by Alexander Hant.

'The international TransformNation Film Awards will be a starting point for developing youth film as a symbol of intercultural communication both in Russia and internationally. Ilya Bachurin has announced that the winning film would be shown again several times until October 21. Also, participants will be able to attend a screening of the Oliver Stone documentary film Putin.

“Young filmmakers all over the world have enourmous creative potential, drive and a very special and sharp grasp of modern reality. The International Youth Film Forum is a unique chance to demonstrate the most impressive achievements of young people in modern film. The TransformNation Film Awards is a powerful stimulus for new and innovative works to take their rightful place in modern culture”, Bachurin concludes.
