Business programme published for the 5th Russian Energy Week International Forum

The business programme for the milestone 5th Russian Energy Week International Forum, to be held on 12–14 October at the Manege (Moscow), comprises more than 40 events grouped into 6 topics under the banner «Global Energy in a Multipolar World». Much of the programme is dedicated to the international agenda, as dictated by the new challenges that global energy markets have recently had to face.
«Since the very first Forum, Russian Energy Week has become a popular platform for discussions on a wide range of issues concerning the development of the global fuel and energy complex. Every year, the business programme’s agenda gets bigger, with new hot topics and issues emerging for discussion. It’s important that in times of difficulty for the global economy and public life, representatives of government, business, academic and civil circles can come together for an honest dialogue and to exchange views regarding the outlook for world energy,» noted Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
In the Global Markets: Cooperation for Development block, dedicated to the international agenda, participants will discuss expectations for the oil and gas market today and in the future, the need to reshape coal exports under sanctions pressure, sustainable energy development in Russia—Africa relations, and potential in the field of technological partnerships between BRICS countries.
«During the global energy crisis, it’s important to mobilize all forces. The new challenges are also providing new opportunities for the sector. Our objectives, and those of the entire global energy community, are to carry on working, not to stop but to move forward. Russian Energy Week is a wonderful platform at which objectives can be updated in many sectors of industry,» noted Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the REW 2022 Organizing Committee.
The International Meetings block will feature the 61st meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council and the BRICS Energy Research Platform’s Annual Meeting.
The Forum will focus on the environmental and social agenda. It will raise issues of companies’ social policies, and specifically investment in human resources. There will be discussions of international cooperation for the development of the low-carbon hydrogen industry, along with the new opportunities opening up for the industry in connection with the new challenges, paths for energy transition in the fight against climate change and many other important topics.
No less relevant for the industry are issues of technological sovereignty and digital transformation. Development prospects, the creation of energy transition technology, cooperation between science, business and government are just some of the many topics that will be discussed by the expert community at the Forum.
The most wide-ranging area of the business programme will be the block in which participants discuss and identify new solutions for the fuel and energy complex. This block will include the all-Russian conference entitled Modernization of the Housing and Communal Services Sector as a Tool to Reduce the Russian Economy’s Energy and Carbon Intensity.
The Forum’s organizers are the Roscongress Foundation and the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, with support from the Government of Moscow.
Registration for Youth Day participants is open at the Russian Energy Week International Forum’s website rusenergyweek.com
