The Roscongress Foundation – a socially oriented non-financial development institution and a major organizer of international conventions; exhibitions; and sporting, public, and cultural events.

The Foundation was established in 2007 with the aim of facilitating the development of Russia’s economic potential, promoting its national interests, and strengthening the country’s image. One of the roles of the Foundation is to comprehensively evaluate, analyse, and cover issues on the Russian and global economic agendas. It also offers administrative services, provides promotional support for business projects and attracting investment, and helps foster social entrepreneurship and charitable initiatives.

Each year, the Foundation’s events draw participants from 208 countries and territories, with more than 15,000 media representatives working on-site at Roscongress’ various venues. The Foundation benefits from analytical and professional expertise provided by 5000 people working in Russia and abroad. In addition, it works in close cooperation with 126 economic partners; industrialists’ and entrepreneurs’ unions; and financial, trade, and business associations from 69 countries worldwide.

On 21–23 July 2020, under Russia’s Presidency of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2019 —2020 and the BRICS Association in 2020, the BRICS Summit and the Meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council will be held in St. Petersburg.

The SCO and BRICS Summits will be the largest multilateral international events to be held in Russia in recent years.

More than 30 heads of state and leaders of international organizations are expected to attend the Summits.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international organization founded on 15 June 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Currently, the SCO members are Russia, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

BRICS is an informal association of five rapidly developing countries: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. It was established in June 2006.
